The lazy way
You will need:
Correction tape
Sand paper
Wet cloth
Remove all the hardware
Level the hole with sand paper, clean it with the wet cloth.
Pass over once or twice with the correction tape, wipe with wet cloth and pass over with the correction tape once more.
Done with no mess at all.
